If you're in the Dallas area I can give a glowing recommendation for CrossFit Richardson. Otherwise, ask to watch a few sessions at a prospective gym before you join. Ask about injury. Find out if the owner does CrossFit, and ask about his/her injuries. Watch the warmup. Does it include elements specific to the movements in the WOD, or is it the same warmup every day?Basically, some CrossFit gyms rock, and some will rock you right to the orthopedist. I think it's easy to tell which is which by just sitting in for a few minutes, and owner involvement critical.
